Green Grading Report
Jewelry Scene

You can buy recycled metal, conflict-free diamonds, and fair trade gemstones. Now reports have gone green, too. EGL USA recently launched a new Envira Series report, which independently verifies both the authenticity and quality of eco-friendly jewelry. EGL USA is the first gemological laboratory to offer a green verification service.

Each Envira Series report confirms that the diamonds and metals in the evaluated piece have been sourced in a conflict-free and environmentally-conscious manner. The report also includes the features of a standard report: shape and cutting style, carat weight, clarity, color, measurements, finish, and cut grade.

“The Envira Series report embodies EGL USA’s dual commitment to our customers and our environment,” says Mitch Jakubovic, director of EGL USA. “The report, which is printed on recycled paper with soy-based ink, is available only for those jewelry pieces that meet specific eco-friendly criteria. The result is a product that informs consumers of both the source and quality of their jewelry purchase. So they can go green with confidence.”
