Modern Jeweler: It's What to Buy

Modern Jeweler is everything you need to know about jewelry in every issue: all the jewelry trends and new products that jewelers need to buy and the in-depth product knowledge they need to sell them. Whether you are buying for thousands of stores, or just one, you can't miss an issue, with dozens of must-have new jewelry styles in each Modern Jeweler. That's why more retail jewelers subscribe to Modern Jeweler than to any other United States jewelry magazine.

Why does Modern Jeweler focus on product? Consumer research shows that it's the most important factor in choosing where to buy jewelry. In the landmark DPS retail landscape study of more than 1,200 consumers, 76 percent said the merchandise you carry determines whether they will continue to shop at your store, even more than the 73 percent who said your store reputation matters. Trust is no longer enough, you have to have the designs that drive desire. That's where we come in, showing you all the fashionable product you need to stock in every issue of Modern Jeweler.

We are the first, and often the only, magazine to showcase hot new trends. We were first to bring you the news about palladium, the hot new metal. We gave you more in-depth details about Journey and the must-have holiday styles. The most popular column in the jewelry industry, Gem Profile, literally wrote the book on gemstones: it's where the industry looks first for all the details on a new gem find. And only Modern Jeweler publishes the annual Global Diamond Directory of sightholders and select diamantaires and the Diamond Brand Directory that together represent a Who's Who of the international diamond world.

Keeping ahead of the market requires experience. Modern Jeweler Editor-in-Chief Cheryl Kremkow has been writing about gemstones and jewelry for 24 years. Executive Editor Jeff Prine has also been a jewelry and accessories fashion authority for 20 years. Ivan Solotaroff, who has covered diamonds for Modern Jeweler for seven years, has been short-listed twice for the Pulitzer Prize. David Federman, who has won 14 Neal Awards, is the author of two Gem Profile books and a co-author of the authoritative book on jewelry appraisals, is the most experienced gem reporter in the industry today, with 35 years of experience. Managing editor Matthew Kramer has been with Modern Jeweler for 10 years. Publisher Tim Murphy is the longest-serving jewelry magazine publisher, leading the Modern Jeweler team since 1990.
